Thankful for a New Year

As we begin a new year may we truly be thankful to God for His faithfulness. He is SO good to us!

Our family, for the last five months, has endured some pretty hard situations; two of the three were cast primarily on me, but unfortunately my children and husband were affected as well, because they saw how those particular situations hurt me. They saw my tears. They heard my requests to a Holy God for understanding. They saw my joy destroyed, but they saw the faithfulness of God. I’m not in the place where I was, but God is faithful and is still working to bring back my joy. Right now, I’m in a place of perseverance and wait.

Words hurt. Words destroy. And people will take your words and twist them into something you never intended, and then not allow you to defend your original meaning that came from a place of brokenness. I wish I could say so much more, but I don’t have the freedom to do so….and that should not be, but God.

God is giving me the strength to endure. He knows my heart. He knows my intentions. And He alone restores. He makes all things new.

He calls us sometimes to do the impossible. The impossible is impossible without God! But God is faithful, and His faithfulness endures forever. Praise His Holy Name!

May we seek after holiness in this upcoming year! May we care more about what God thinks about us than what people think about us! May God give all of us His all-encompassing joy!

Blessings to you!

Please make sure you read Psalm 136 below! Whatever you are facing God wants you to know this: He is faithful–FOREVER!

Just a quick aside…Grateful that the first situation has brought about a restoration–but I hate that loved ones age and we have to deal with that as we age ourselves. And I’m so grateful that God has provided for our family after the loss of my husband’s job of 28 years back in August. Thankful, too, for blessings God has given us through others since the job loss. He is indeed faithful!)

136 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
2 Oh, give thanks to the God of gods!
For His mercy endures forever.
3 Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords!
For His mercy endures forever:
4 To Him who alone does great wonders,
For His mercy endures forever;
5 To Him who by wisdom made the heavens,
For His mercy endures forever;
6 To Him who laid out the earth above the waters,
For His mercy endures forever;
7 To Him who made great lights,
For His mercy endures forever—
8 The sun to rule by day,
For His mercy endures forever;
9 The moon and stars to rule by night,
For His mercy endures forever.
10 To Him who struck Egypt in their firstborn,
For His mercy endures forever;
11 And brought out Israel from among them,
For His mercy endures forever;
12 With a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm,
For His mercy endures forever;
13 To Him who divided the Red Sea in two,
For His mercy endures forever;
14 And made Israel pass through the midst of it,
For His mercy endures forever;
15 But overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea,
For His mercy endures forever;
16 To Him who led His people through the wilderness,
For His mercy endures forever;
17 To Him who struck down great kings,
For His mercy endures forever;
18 And slew famous kings,
For His mercy endures forever—
19 Sihon king of the Amorites,
For His mercy endures forever;
20 And Og king of Bashan,
For His mercy endures forever—
21 And gave their land as a heritage,
For His mercy endures forever;
22 A heritage to Israel His servant,
For His mercy endures forever.
23 Who remembered us in our lowly state,
For His mercy endures forever;
24 And rescued us from our enemies,
For His mercy endures forever;
25 Who gives food to all flesh,
For His mercy endures forever.
26 Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven!
For His mercy endures forever.
