Made to Worship

(oops… Youtube is not allowing the above video to play within the text of my blog so just click on  the message that comes up and it should take you to the video on Youtube. It is a great one and a great message.)

You were made to worship!  Our soul is satisfied when we lift up praises to the most Holy God, the maker of the Universe!  With everything our soul cries out to be satistified through giving back in praise to the very One that gave His everything for us. He alone is worthy of ALL praise!

(I highly recommend that you watch the Hillsong video I clipped in above before reading any further.)

As I watch the praise video above I can’t help but to think about what it will be like in Heaven one day, when all the Saints in Christ Jesus are gathered around the throne worshipping Him, the Lamb of God!  A chill bumps moment, indeed!  Think of all those times here on earth where you have felt, beyond a doubt, the presence of the Lord during worship.  Now, think of that moment and multiply it times 1 million and it will still be just a glimmer of what it will be one day in His absolute presence.  I’m hoping that like myself, that your heart yearns for that moment.

Whether you realize it or not God imprinted Himself into you when He created you! We are made in His image (Gen. 1:26), therefore we long to acknowledge Him. There is a deep longing within each of us that longs to know Him, even if we fail to acknowledge Him as LORD! So many of us seek to make a connection with something (people, religion, substances, etc.) when that connection can only be made whole in acccepting Him as Lord over our life; not just an area or two of our life, but all of it.

I think about all the religions in the world that people follow and I can’t help to think about how they are all seeking out something that is bigger than they are.  That something they are seeking, that hole in their being, is seeking to be filled, but unfortunately as long as they seek after other gods they miss the mark that their heart is longing for.

When we were created, we were created not only with a physical body, but a spiritual one. In order to keep the physical body in good condition we must feed it and excercise it.  Just as we feed and excerise the physical we are also to do the same with the spiritual body, but it must be done through spiritual food and spiritual activity that is grounded in Christ. If we feed the spiritual body with something that is not grounded in Christ we starve it.  Our spiritual bodies crave spiritual food and activity that comes from spending time in the Bible and with God.  It is only then that we are spiritually satisfied and our physical bodies receive the benefit also. When we actively seek after Him and nourish our spirit, then we can actively give back to Him in worship and praise. He loves to hear us worshipping Him.

We were designed to have our spiritual needs met only by and through worshipping Christ. Without Him as the focus of our lives, we fail to give ourselves what we most desire.  He made us to desire Him. We can only be satisfied through giving of ourselves back to Him!

He deserves all the honor we can give!

“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power.  For You created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.”  Revelation 4:11 NLT

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty–the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”  Revelation 4:8b NLT
